Ventilated Façade Systems
The Casement Systems from SASHCO offer a versatile and robust solution for doors and windows, featuring a range of designs including thermal and non-thermal break options with various opening types such as single, double, outward/inward swing, and fixed styles, perfect for main entrances. With glass panel thicknesses ranging from 45mm to 63mm, acoustic insulation up to 40 dB, wind load resistance up to 1000 Pa, and load-bearing capacities up to 200 Kg, these systems combine modern aesthetics with exceptional durability.
A ventilated façade is an external wall system where the cladding is installed over a continuous air cavity, separated from the building envelope by a sub-structure and insulation layer. This configuration enhances moisture management, improves long-term durability, and protects the building structure from environmental exposure. The ventilation cavity enables controlled airflow behind the cladding, facilitating effective drainage, pressure equalization, and natural drying of the wall assembly. For reliable performance, airflow must remain continuous from the base of the façade to the top termination, without obstruction at openings or transitions. SASHCO ventilated façade systems are designed as integrated assemblies, where cladding materials, sub-structures, fixings, insulation, and protective membranes work together as a coordinated solution.
Why Ventilation Matters
Performance Benefits
Moisture Control
Continuous airflow removes trapped moisture and prevents condensation.
Pressure Equalization
Reduces wind-driven rain penetration.
Structural Protection
Shields the primary wall from direct weather exposure.
Thermal Performance
Supports insulation efficiency and thermal stability.
System Durability
Extends façade lifespan and reduces maintenance needs.
Typical System Build-Up
Structural Wall Substrate
Concrete, masonry, or steel framing system.
UV-Resistant Protective Membrane
Protects insulation while allowing vapor permeability.
Exterior Thermal Insulation
Improves thermal efficiency and energy performance.
Adjustable Sub-Structure
Aluminum or galvanized steel framework for precise alignment.
External Cladding Material
Architectural finish and weather protection.
Cladding Materials
Cladding Systems for Modular Facades
Cladding materials form the external protective and architectural layer of the façade. Each material has distinct characteristics, fixing concepts, and design considerations, while remaining compatible with the same core system principles.
